The year is 2005. With the entire world embroiled in the vicious "War on Drugs" from which combatants seemed unable to extricate themselves, troop morale was at an all-time low on both sides. In an effort to spur public support and get people enlisted, The B.C.-based Marijuana Marines trotted out that eccentric old character, "Uncle Dope," to spearhead their latest recruitment drive. Looking sophisticated yet stoned, "Uncle Dope" was a much-beloved representation of the Cannabis Culture, an inspirational figurehead to many, and a symbol of that rich and happy future that the people strove for. The presence of "Uncle Dope" rallied the troops and boosted recruitment numbers during the difficult and turbulent times of mid-to-late 2005, playing a not insignificant role in our eventual victory.
